Wind Power

The Wind Power generation class is a basic familiarization course. It will cover using wind power for a variety of tasks. While wind power may not make sense for you depending on the region of the country you live in, it is another viable power source for many. The class discusses the different regions of the country were wind is a viable power source and how to determine if you live in a viable area. The class will also discuss alternative uses for wind, such as wind water pumps

Course Objectives:

  • Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT), the most common
  • Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT)
  • Wind turbine battery banks
  • Wind pumps and other uses for wind
  • Demonstrate how a wind turbine system works

Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into useful forms of energy, such as making electricity or pumping water. Wind is plentiful, renewable, clean and uses little land. It is just another system to make you less dependent on the power companies and government. Once you install a system, you will reap the benefits for years to come.
