We’re excited to announce that Chris Hackett will be joining us for the weekend!
Over the course of the weekend, Chris Hackett will be working on a special project taking ordinary discarded household appliances and turns them into useful tools. You’ll witness first hand how one mans garbage can be transformed into another mans treasure. Check back often for more details on this incredible demonstration. Hackett will also be speaking at the event on Saturday evening about how to become less dependent.
Chris Hackett is an American artist and television presenter. He is a co-founder of the Madagascar Institute and the current host of the Science Channel’s television show Stuck with Hackett. He is also a newly minted “Contributing Editor” at Popular Science magazine. Hackett has appeared in several TV shows to include:

In early 2010, he appeared on the Discovery Channel Canada show Breaking Point alongside Jonathan Tippett. Each episode, something is selected to be broken, and improved.
Between 2002 and 2004, Hackett appeared on TLC’s Junkyard Wars. The show, which gave teams 12 hours to gather materials from a junkyard, then use the materials to modify their vehicles for a race. Hackett acted as the Red Team Captain.
